I'll own up to my bias right away: if An McMan wrote a paraphrase of the tax code, I would read it. In this vignette about our favorite Baltimore couple, Diz--the Rachel Maddow look-alike--tries and fails yet again to provide the almost-unattainable Clarissa with a perfect Christmas. This was such a perfect story for Christmas night yes I read it allowed to my family and their kids. Okay I'm not that bad I did change a few words kids shouldn't hear lol excellent Dis and Clarissa story. Hilarious
An excellent continuation of the saga. Humor abounds!
What an easy and fun read. Love McMan's humor. She makes even the most mundane situation into a comedy of errors that somehow becomes believable. A quick, laugh filled read to get you in the holiday spirit. Well done..
If you're looking for a light and frothy piece that will make you laugh and say Awwww treat yourself to this sweet story. Diz and Clarissa have become part of my Christmas traditions since they first appeared in "Nevermore", one of the stories in the "Sidecar" collection. I like these characters and I like that they always manage to get past the obstacles they face each and every Christmas. I look forward to many more Christmases with these women.
If you haven’t read the Diz and Clarissa stories you are missing out on a real treat. This is the 4th of the series following Nevermore!, A Christmas Tree Grows in Baltimore and Blended Families. (All available in Three)
Diz seems to attract trouble at Christmas, even when she is constantly trying to do the right thing. For once Clarissa is her willing accomplice. With sick bins, Marty’s three, the dogs, Brother Frank and Judge Claus they manage to cause chaos as usual.
A delightful read as always with Ann McMan’s writing, light and full of fun. McMan has a wicked sense of humour and a great eye for detail. It’s the little things, always the subtleties, which amuse and entertain. Perfect for an hour or two in front of the tree. A perfect Christmas read visiting old friends for another chapter of seasonal frolics.
Bless Ann's heart and mind for creating the funniest story ever!
Here's an enjoyable holiday gift from Ann McMan! Diz and Clarissa should be sharing the most perfect, romantic Christmas Eve--instead they're babysitting 3 rambunctious boys for a sick friend. Throw in a couple of dogs, a trip to the Mall, a bully and the Baltimore police and you have a delightful story as only Ann can tell it. Fun and light and the perfect holiday read. Five stars.
